Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera, Hello Future

Yes, a ball fitted with 36 cameras that capture a 360 degree panoramic photo. Would I buy it? Absolutely not, I don’t have the passion or skill to use it. So why have I posted it? Because its a cool invention and future implementations of this type of photography could reveal new perspectives and stories in action packed events, activities and sports. Imagine a video version of this?! I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

The Top-Secret Google X Lab Dreaming Up the Future

In a top-secret lab in an undisclosed Bay Area location where robots run free, the future is being imagined.

It’s a place where your refrigerator could be connected to the Internet, so it could order groceries when they ran low. Your dinner plate could post to a social network what you’re eating. Your robot could go to the office while you stay home in your pajamas. And you could, perhaps, take an elevator to outer space.

These are just a few of the dreams being chased at Google X, the clandestine lab where Google is tackling a list of 100 shoot-for-the-stars ideas.

Does robotics, artificial intelligence and the upcoming era of pervasive computing make your heart skip a beat? Keep reading on NYTimes.com – Google’s Lab of Wildest Dreams.

I murder plants :(

It is true. I don’t do it on purpose, but it happens. I love plants. I love having them in my house and at work. But over time I’ve somehow become a serial plant killer and I hate myself for it.

Have no fear, redemption is here (at the cost of $168). God has done some UX work and sent us a plant angel on the iOS and web to save us from sinning again, aka the Koubachi Wi-Fi Sensor.

Dear Sheikha Mahboob (my dying palm tree),

Help is here. I shall love and care for you when notified by the plant angel. Look forward to seeing you green again.

Love, Nadeem!

Audi vs BMW Ad Wars

I’ve referred to these billboards countless times during discussions of witty advertising with friends. The  creative wars between competitors are quite entertaining. Check out the rest of the Audi Vs. BMW Ad Campaign.

Will the computer mouse be obsolete by 2015?

I rarely subscribe to youtube channels, however the Museum of Obsolete Objects beautifully showcases the extinction of everyday products that we’ve used growing up and our children will never know of. Things such as the fax machine, light bulb, instant camera, radio receiver, pocket calculator, compact cassette, floppy disk, typewriter, phonograph and rotary telephone have vanished.

Their latest video seems to predict the end of the computer mouse by 2015. Will this happen as computing becomes more pervasive and input devices more natural?
